Our objective is to ensure that SMME’s are able to gain access to markets by implementing food safety and quality systems, process improvements and new product development.
Food technology as a science has come a long since Nicolas Apperts’ development of the canning process in 1810. We’ve since developed tools that will improve data collection at the point of production, which help in process monitoring, production planning and forecasting.

Luvo Majodina

Executive Director
BSc Industrial Biotechnology, MSc Food Engineering
Luvo Majodina, originally from Johannesburg, studied his BSc in Industrial and Applied Biotechnology at the University of Kwa-Zulu Natal in Pietermaritzburg. After a short period as an English Teacher, he went to France to pursue his MSc in Food Engineering. His studies in France allowed him to not only travel but learn various process and quality control aspects which are key in the food industry with a key focus on the dairy industry. On his return to South Africa, he worked in the small town of Bonnievale as a production coordinator and then a production manager. As part of his duties, he managed the production of dairy powders, butter, milk standardisation, whey filtration and materials loss management. With experience in the food and pharmaceutical industry, he is capable of adding value to a variety of disciplines.
Inathi Magida

Inathi Magida is a Food Technologist with demonstrated years of experience in the industry. She is very passionate about food safety and quality assurance. Inathi is focused on getting results. She is
knowledgeable in all aspects of quality and uses initiative and creativity to find solutions. Inathi holds a BTech in Food technology and MSc in Food engineering. As part of her duties, Inathi has
conducted food safety, health & safety and hygiene inspections and audits. She has also been responsible for coaching and training at client’s sites on industry best practices. Skilled and practical, she is goal driven and results-orientated.
